Possibilities for undergraduate students
There are a number of scholarships, fellowships, and training opportunities for undergraduates involved in research. Undergraduates in the lab may be eligible to apply for:
The UCLA Undergraduate Research Fellows Program ($3,000 scholarship; applications open in October)
The UCLA Undergraduate Research Scholars Program ($4,500-$6,000 scholarship)
The UCLA Bioscience Scholars Program provides $4,000 for 8 weeks or $5,000 for 10 weeks of research
Life Science Dean’s Award for Neuroscience Research – Scheibel Scholars ($10,500 fellowship and up to $7,500 in tuition assistance; applications open March-ish)
The Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) program ($12,000 stipend and up to $7,500 in tuition assistance; applications open in January)
The NIH's Undergraduate Scholarship Program ($20,000 for tuition & other expenses; info sessions start in January)
The NSF GRFP (for senior undergrads applying to grad school, provides 5 years of support at $37k/year; due in October)
